A tear of the ACL can increasingly be attributed to an elevated tibial slope. For athletically active people in particular, a treatment option is correction of the slope with an anterior closing osteotomy. This increasingly popular surgical procedure can shift some of the tension away from the ACL and toward the ACL by correcting the slope.
